If an obsession with control is permeating the noosphere, we could actually turn it to expanding our awareness and enriching the Earth Community. In fact, this time period is also heavily weighted in favor of unorthodox ideas and breaking with the established paradigm, so that culturally revolutionary ideas that have matured well beyond the experimental stage are much more likely to gain traction.

Additionally, the rise in popular usage of various mystical arts, metaphysical expansions, and deeper interactions with the sentience of the world can and probably will go in many directions. Quite like the question of whether artificial intelligence is good or bad, the values which guide its usage will tell the tale. Any kind of tool has the potential to carry us away from ourselves and from the real, tangible world of entanglement with others and its many consequences. The seduction of power and control can appear anywhere.

We may ourselves have to let go of the idea that we can or even should predict and control the human process or the Earth process. A desire for certainty and a feeling of control is deeply embedded within the fear and greed we all experience as humans. Stepping into uncertainty with an open heart is perhaps what the philosopher Søren Kierkegaard (himself born with the Uranus trine Pluto aspect of the early 1800s) meant with his "leap of faith." This is not about abandoning logic or reason, but rather placing them in the passenger seat instead of the driver's seat. Evolution of a personal nature is anything but linear.
